Interests

The spread of infectious diseases is a result of the intricate intertwining of many factors: the nature of pathogens and hosts, the ecology of carriers and vectors, and the environmental and land-use changes that affect them—all of which are ultimately influenced by human behavior. It’s also important to remember that our actions are dictated not just by personal choice, but by the social structures we live in. Addressing these challenges requires an indispensable collaboration across all fields, from virology to sociology. I am captivated by the fresh perspectives born at the crossroads of these disciplines, and that fascination is what fuels my research.
